Rev. Dion Evans, Bay Area Clergy Leadership Alliance
How would you rate the opening plenary session (Rev. Dion Evans)? Very insightful and powerful!!! And well delivered. Overwhelming. Top Rate. Excellent advise. Inspiring, encouraging. He was fantastic! We need him to help us get things going in NJ. One of the most articulate & Effective presenters I have heard on this issue (Sen. Anderson). He spoke well but his presentation was mainly limited to his community. I give the conference a "10"! Wonderful! I just loved all the information. Congratulations. Very inspirational as always! Tremendously motivating-a great start to the day. Needed more time, but probably would not have been more effective. Very inspiring and was created an interest in developing and collaborating with others in my community. Gave clear action steps. Excellent session today to encourage all of us to get involved. Informational, Inspirational, Dynamic (needs more depth).

How would you rate the first breakout session you attended? Marriage Celebration: Excellent. Marriage celebration was eye opening. Perfect, Absolutely important. We need to get busy. I love this concept-it will help rebuild the value of marriage. Presenters were very informative in hand outs. The presentations (verbal) were too fast. Had many questions on each side. Need more time. Useful-2. Uplifting to enhance my ministry and others. State Efforts to Strengthen Marriage: Need more time to answer questions. Very informative & productive session. Great. Excellent-4. Very Good. Encouraging. Would have preferred more info on NJ. Great to meet legislators that are focused and gaining ground on family issues. It was good to hear about local efforts. It’s good to hear about the support of Healthy Marriages at the state level. I hope it continues. An informative session to learn the strategies and results of Arizona & Minnesota. Great information. Gave ideas to follow up with my legislators (Coyne). Helpful. Educational. Domestic Violence: Very Educational. Important beginning discussion-raise important issues. Excellent. How would you rate the second breakout session you attended? Marriage Ed for youth: Excellent. Good. Very Good. Focus on Youth is so critical. Rate?-The highest score. A very effective touch on the issues that face our young people. Best I’ve ever heard on the subject. Richard’s presentation way so good-too short. Great overview. I am looking forward to using the RQ with the youth at the church I serve. A much needed illustration on the relationships on young men and women. Helpful Faith-based efforts: Very Good-3. Great. Very informative. Because I am religious, I loved hearing about the importance of God in a relationship. Even though the other presenters didn’t show up, they just went on and filled in fantastically. An interactive session that educational and interesting. Inspiring. Useful Federal & Local Efforts: Could have been much better. Very good-3. Enjoyed Dr. Rein’s presentation. Good although I expected more practical advice. Its wonderful to hear from both perspectives in building programs for Healthy Marriages. Too much Gov.-should have show-cased more local efforts. Need some improvement. Very Good & inspiring. Informative.

Good. Very interesting. Excellent!-2. Very good! Very informative. It’s good to know of different programs going on everywhere. A brief introduction of each gave ideas to provoke more research into the specific programs. Alan was great! He needed more time. Very helpful. Needs more time and less topics-too much for a short time. Learned something-enjoyed. State efforts: Excellent. Sen. Dille was very clear and is a great leader on this. Dr. Rein was provocative & interesting. Great. The best presentation of the day. Very informational current initiatives going on! Movement is very necessary, seemed to need committed clergy to make this work. Helpful Marriage Initiatives: Excellent-3. Very Good-2. I enjoyed hearing Jeannie Avery and realized it’s a step-by-step process but it’s really what communities need & want. Inspiring, clear- Helped me build my vision. The NJ Clergy initiative is fascinating and I hope to assist. The Flemington project is a great model that can be emulated.

Any suggestions or comments? Continue to grow. More contact all year round. Use email, links, website to inform/remind/announce. I want to learn more and be involved(Julie Edwards). How can I get something going in my community? The day had a good flow. Even though scheduling was a bit off, you all pulled it off and finished wonderfully. I thought the whole conference was excellent and really inspired all who were in attendance. Family is the key to solving all the community, national and world’s problems. Excellent combination of presenters. Monthly workshops. Media relationship promotion. Everybody needs to hear this material. We need to work harder to get the word out. Marriage Summit needs to advertise more for such a valuable program. More youth involved from inner city & suburbs. More clergy from Hispanic and African American community. Thanks. [Linda-Send press release follow-up; mail out to former attendees each year; send follow-up newsletter-easier to read than letters-especially to legislators and potential donors. Hand out response forms for each session and one for overall. Send thank you letters to presenters. Need time keeper and event coordinator for the day who is not registration or a presenter]. My car gets fixed and there is preventative maintenance also-When Couples are in trouble, they tend to hide and one often finds out too late .If possible increase the handouts. A hard copy of each presenter/speaker would be great also-a possible email address exchange between the attendees. Keep the excellent work. I hope there is a 3rd Annual Summit! Keep the good work advancing. The program was well planned, more than one could have anticipated. The speakers were dynamic & inspiring. Good net working sources. Do it again! Soon!-2 days next year. Promote through radio, TV, newspapers. This is not a job-it is a mission. Continue to press forward with this vision. More on coalition building and how to get a grant.

Would you like to join or volunteer for the NJ Healthy Marriage Coalition? Yes, I want to be Part of this movement-Julie Edwards 201-434-3510. I wish I could but I live in Zambia. I will be an "honorary" member.-Sen. Anderson. Highly likely-I would like to get a bit more research done on the statistics as well as attend a few meetings myself-basically, educate myself enough to train and provide support to others, those we’re trying to reach. Maybe you can have a website for volunteers to sign up. A wonderful event-looking forward to the next one. I would love to advise. Would like to form a coalition with New York & New Jersey Healthy Marriage Alliances. I am interested in learning more about the coalition. Yes!-8.
